Elks make major contribution to Foundation

The Heat is On: Record-Setting Fundraiser

The JHF raised more than $73,500 for scholarships that will be awarded to area seniors.

Great weather helped fuel the 2021 Wiffle Ball Tournament which featured a tournament record for homers and hits. See all of the JHF Wiffle Tournament stats and more here

Champions of the feature bracket was The Heat.

The 2021 JHF Foundation tournament raised a record $73,616.  That was not the only record that was shattered.  

A record number of home runs were hit (144) eclipsing the old record by SIXTY (83). Numbers can be deceiving however.  When compared to total hits, the home run percentage was 14%, exactly in line with previous years.  This is in line with MLB home run percentage (14%).  

The tournament was divided into two divisions, American and National League.  The Heat won the American League and the CC Cubs were national league champs.  Carter Whittington (Heat) was named AL MVP while Anna Boone (Wiffle Woders) was NL MVP.  Boone was the first multi hr hitting female in tourney history.  Gavin Mitchell of the Cubs set a record for most hits in a tourney (13).  Gabe Board moved into a three way tie (Dono McGregor and Gordon Dugan) for most hits in a career (39).  Brandon Sigler cemented his legacy taking over all time HR lead with 15 in his career.   

Your Sports Edge led by the Isom boys had a good showing but came up just short against the Heat in the AL Championship.  Defending champs Free Press were 0-3 as star Dono McGregor has just came off injured list.   It was a great weekend had by all.  

Almost $60 raised at 2019 JHF Wiffle Ball Tournament

The 2019 Jake Hodge Wiffle Ball Tournament raised almost $60,000 to fund scholarships for graduates of Crittenden, Lyon, Caldwell and Trigg counties, plus another one for a high school rodeo participant.

The foundation was started by Denis and Shannon Hodge as a lasting memorial to their son who died unexpectedly at age 12 in 2008. Ken and Katie Parker of Princeton host the Wiffle Ball Tournament at two miniature, replica ballparks called Little Busch Stadium and Little Fenway Park South.

The Crittenden Free Press team won the championship, going undefeated in pool play and 2-0 in Sunday’s single-elimination tournament.

Dono McGregor, pitcher for The Press team, was named Most Valuable Player and he was also selected as a JHF Wiffle Ball Hall of Famer.

JHF welcomes new Little Fenway to lineup

Ken and Katie Parker have added to their field of dreams in the backyard of their Princeton home where they host the annual JHF Wiffle Ball Tournament.

This year, the Parkers will unveil Little Fenway, a second field beside of the original Little Busch.

JHF Wiffle Ball Tournament breaks record

The 2018 Jake Hodge Foundation Wiffle Ball Tournament at Little Busch Stadium in Princeton, Ky., raised a record 40,569.

Princeton's Tiger Baseball won the tournament for the first time, beating Marion's Scared Hitless in the championship game.

It's Wiffle Time in West Kentucky

Last year's JHF Wiffle Ball Tournament at Little Busch Stadium in Princeton raised a record $33,000 and we're getting ready now for the 2018 edition of the Foundation's biggest fundraising event of the season.

Join us on Friday, Saturday, Sunday Aug. 3-5 for fun and entertainment. Get a team together and join the competition or just visit a game and enjoy this extraordinary atmosphere in the backyard of Ken and Katie Parker, benefactors of this annual event.

More than $13,000 in scholarships was awarded this year by the Foundation. Those receiving scholarships were from Crittenden, Livingston, Caldwell, Lyon and Trigg counties and  the Kentucky High School Rodeo.

Annual fundraiser nets record

The 2016 Wiffle Ball Tournament at Little Busch Stadium in Princeton raised $26,200, an all-time record for the Jake Hodge Foundation

This brings our four-year total to $75,550 from Wiffle Ball events.

"Pretty amazing considering our small communities," said organizer and stadium founder Ken Parker.

An estimated crowd of 400 watched Friday nights games.

Pro golfer Emma Talley threw out first pitch to Jessi (Hodge) Sigler and the 2016 scholarship winners were recognized.

Wiffle Ball Raises Nearly $23,000 !

Nearly $23,000 was raised last weekend during the third annual Jake Hodge Foundation Wiffle Ball Tournament at Princeton’s Little Busch Stadium.

The ball field, a near perfect 23-percent downsized replica of the St. Louis stadium, is located at the home of Ken and Dr. Katie Parker, philanthropists have have helped spearhead the foundation’s largest yearly fundraiser. The foundation provides college scholarships to students in four area counties – Crittenden, Caldwell, Lyon and Livingston. 

The The McCrew of Princeton beat The Crittenden Free Press in

 the championship game on Sunday and The McCrew’s Conner McEneney was named MVP. There were 16 teams in the tournament. The Crittenden Free Press also led all participating teams in fundraising with more than $3,000 donated toward the effort. 

About 350 people attended the Friday night opening ceremony where more than $14,000 was raised. 

The foundation is named for the late Jake Hodge, the son of Crittenden County teachers and coaches Shannon and Denis Hodge. He died in 2008 and the family established the foundation as a legacy to his faith-based life and way to reach and help children in the surrounding communities.

Tournament raises more than $6K

Our annual golf tournament was a major success, raising $6,090 for the Foundation.

The winning team was: Aaron Owen, Jason Enoch, Kyle Myers and Sal Tuzzolini.

After achieving our previous goal of $100,000, we have now upped that figure to $250,000!
